Algebra Calculus Tutor
Is math something you can get better at?
Algebra just A** rapes me.
So is there anyway to get better, what would you recomend liek tutoring after school studying alot (how much).
I have not started yet but know it will be hard, I did really bad in algebra 1 and next year am taking algebra 2, geometry and pre-calculus.
I want to know if it is possible to do better and what one has to do.
It is strange because I can pull A+'s in Science,reading,writing and history so I am not a dummy or anything.
But in high school apperantly science has math at higher levels >.<.
What do you mean the ability to learn stops? You stop learning at 16?
Yes math is something you can get better at. I dropped out of school after I failed the 9th grade for the third time. It's not that I was stupid, I just never went to school. Math was my worst subject, I couldn't even pass the dummy math class called FOM or fundamentals of math, fractions, easy stuff. I ended up getting a GED and went to college. I had to take some remedial classes to catch up, but I graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry, so I had to get better at math. I spent a lot of time in the math lab and asked questions, one day it just clicked and was easy for me because I discovered that I liked doing it. Math is easy, think of it as a puzzle. The rules are always the same, you just add new ones the higher up you go. If you follow the steps you will get the right answer every time. I recommend finding other people that are taking the same class and forming a study group, this way you can help each other. If you have a math lab your group can meet in there and you will usually have a T.A. that will help you also.
Algebra is nothing more than a series of operations, rules and steps that are always the same. I promise that you will succeed if you practice. Algebra is very important as it is fundamental to higher math such as Calculus. You will also use it in chemistry, physics and even business. Keep studying and try to make it fun, if you do that you will succeed.
