Camera Mystery Vista
My hard drive thinks it's an iPod!?
Nope. Not kidding. After a Windows Update blew out my second hard drive, the primary one is wigging out. The internal primary hard drive (c:) thinks it's a USB reader device, like a camera or an iPod. Naturally, I can't reload my Windows Vista on it because there IS no USB device attached to the stupid computer. Even in DOS it recognizes the C: drive as a USB device.
I can't access the hard drive with a Vista or an XP installation disk, or via DOS, or through system recovery, and Windows can't repair it the way the manufacturers claim. And the mystery iPod that is not even attached to a USB port contains none of the backup files that I was so diligent about.
Come on, you gurus. I know you're up in the middle of the night searching for a problem like this to solve. What do I do?
The question is a bit confusing. So, you can boot to windows via the C:, but the secondary is being viewed as a USB device??? Can you wipe the secondary (format it from the cmd), and then start over?
