What is your opinion on the (Black Verse White) In various dictionary?

K, first of all, the dictionary is not racist. In Western culture, white and black have long been associated with good and evil. If you're learning English as a second language and you read about someone's "black heart," a dictionary that describes "black" as a colour isn't much good to you (you'll end up thinking that the person has a heart condition). Incidentally, if someone's heart is white it can also mean that they're a coward, so it doesn't always mean virtuous. While I understand that the use of "black" to represent evil can be offensive to "Black" people, I've never met a person whose skin is literally black, nor someone whose skin was literally white (yes, I have met an albino person and her skin was not 100% white).
What we percieve as white is really a mixture of all of the different colours of light visible in the colour spectrum, meaning that one of it's main properties is inclusion (not such a bad thing, methinks?). Of course, this means that the white object is really reflecting all light off of itself and rejecting all coloured light (racism anyone?) but that's beside the point. Black, on the other hand, means the absence of light, and since one of our instinctive fears is the dark (come on, how many of you can say you were never afraid of the dark as a kid) that's the colour that was chosen to represent fear, uncertainty, and evil. I really don't think that the definitions are that big a deal, but that's just me.
