Reader Rabbit Lets
Computer time for a 4 year old?
I was just curious to see who lets their child have computer time. We let our little boy have about 30 minutes to an hour on the computer. Not everyday though. He is 4 years old, and we just introduced him to it last year. He uses starfall.com, sesamestreet.org, and nickjr.com.
I actually think it is a good thing, considering computers are so constantly used now. I feel like he'll have a heads up in computer class in school. Oh, that also makes me think of another question. There was this game we used to play when I was in school, I believe it was called Reader Rabbit, do they still make it? Is there a version that would be compatible with Windows Vista? If not, what games do you recommend to encourage spelling and reading?
I don't see anything wrong with letting your child play on the computer as long as you are limiting his time and what he is seeing and doing. I actually work at a preschool and we have a computer in the class with preschool games just for them to play.
