Learning Tagalog and Rosetta Stone?
Hello, I'm interested on learning Tagalog through Rosetta stone.
Is this language of any particular difficulty? Can someone compare it's difficulty to that of another language or Spanish for someone who only speaks English and Spanish?

I also want to learn, or at least learn more about Indonesian/Malay and Tagalog. Of these, Tagalog is clearly the most challenging for an English speaker, or for a fluent Spanish speaker for that matter. True, about 30% of the current vocabulary is from Spanish -big deal, the challenge isn't lexical. As the previous answerer suggested, the phonology will leave you flummoxed -because Filipino has a phenomenally flummoxing phonology, I guess. But the grammar, hoo-ha! The morphology is not quite as alien to Europeans as, let's say, that of Arabic, but the system of infixing and circumfixing will have you drinking after-shave. You'd never think Tagalog is such a close relative of Indonesian, one of the most accessible and graceful of all languages. I just want to know how in the h el l children learn Tagalog, Visaya, and so on, and with no more effort and trauma than our little monsters pick up (*choke*) English.
