Schoolhouse Math Grade
Abeka or SOS home schooling?
This Monday I just started home schooling with Abeka for my first year. I'm in 9th grade and enjoying Abeka pretty well. Have any of you used Switched on Schoolhouse, how do you like it? It looks amazing from what I've seen on the site, and I really like interactive things. What are the pros and cons between the two. Also, I am not good at math but so far I'm able to handle Algebra with Abeka. Is Switched on Schoolhouse any easier to understand? One last thing, who does the grading? The company, or the parent?
I love working on the computer. I'm usually on it 24/7
Abeka and SOS are both wonderful curriculum's. But I wouldn't suggest using SOS for ALL your subjects, my children loved the program but didn't like doing "everything" on the computer! As far as the grading goes, both companies offer a grading option, but it depends on your state laws and your parents. We use a variety of publishers and we also attend some co-op classes. We tried several Algebra curriculum's and finally found Teaching Textbooks, which is now the only math curriculum I use. If you run into problems check them out at www.teachingtextbooks.com
