What of a poem about work?
Dead Reckoning
Windward Bound
On the foggiest of morns
Coastal crash echoing to port
Hopes beacon piercing through the darkness
Sultry shadows ripple from wakes edge
Ahead lay etched cliff walls
Fractured slivers scattered below
Coastline encased in granite mask
Infinite aquatic foe pummels on
Ceasing for none this enduring quest
Lays in wait clueless victims
Mindful merchants plying their trades
Toss the dice by timekeeper rules
Helpless heroes transformed to merciful souls
Strewn about in their watery tombs
Hard to starboard full ahead
Seek safe harbor mind the birds’ eye
Watchful weathermen respect the dawn
Each day offering tomorrows history
Traceless travelers preserve youthful rights
We are mere pawns in nature’s game
Tread lightly when you leave lands end
